I’m currently testing a Canon 800mm/5.6L IS lens and a Canon 1D Mark IV camera. I shot this Timbers game at ISO’s from 2500 to 5000 as the light changed. I was very impressed with the focusing and handling ability of the lens. It’s is a large and long, but not that heavy. I think a 400/2.8 is more difficult to handle. I especially like the reach from at the goal. What it was perfect.

I get some great assignments. I won’t lie. I showed up at The Woods ridiculously early for the Blitzen Trapper show. It was an unannounced show before they head out on tour. I was able to shoot their rehearsal and also a band group photo. The Woods is an old funeral home and it’s a very nice space with plenty of quirky corners to shoot. Here are a few snaps from that night.

"Hello," Nicole Olszewski says, standing in the doorway, 1 1/2-year-old Grace perched on her hip.

Just over two years ago, Nicole and Brett Olszewski bought the house Oringdulph designed and his brother built.

The Trail Blazers suffered a potentially devastating setback Saturday night against the Houston Rockets as one of the faces of the franchise suffered another serious injury.

Greg Oden, one of the few bright spots in what has been a discouraging start to the season, fractured the patella in his left knee and will likely miss the rest of the season.

Bruce made the best shots of the night from his favorite spot on the floor that showed the gruesome knee injury. He also was able to go back near the locker room and make some behind the scenes images while I covered the action. Much to my surprise, it ended up being quite a game. Here’s my photo showing Brandon Roy scoring the winning goal. Here’s the story.
