Garden State Cart is Top Ten in Portland

I’ve been asked some questions about this photograph. First, I shot it with three lights. All old Nikon strobes set to manual with Pocket Wizards firing all three. One light was inside the cart, the other two were positioned to my right and left aimed indirectly at cart. The second part of the equation is post processing in Aperture. First I set the adjustments. Recovery: all the way right; Black Point: 3 Definition: .62. Then I processed it in Color Efex Pro with the Tonal Contrast jacked up pretty high on all three sliders and the saturation dialed back to taste. After that, I went back to the Aperture adjustments and added some more black point and added the Color Monochrome module and that gave it the metallic look.

Fancy new digs, same great photos.

I like the look of this. Just out of curiosity, did you use Aperature just to test it out, or was it just better/easier than doing it with Photoshop?
